Is $79.99 more than GTA 5 cost?

Yes. Grand Theft Auto V launched at $59.99 in 2013, so GTA 6 arrives at the newer $79.99 standard tier now common for major console releases. The $20 jump reflects an industry-wide move rather than anything specific to Rockstar. Weigh the Ultimate Edition against the Standard only if its bonus in-game content matters to you — the base game is identical.

Should you pre-order?

Pre-ordering before 20 November 2026 is the only way to guarantee the Vintage Vice City Pack, and PlayStation buyers also get a free month of GTA+. Because physical copies ship a download code rather than a disc, there is no practical difference between buying digital and buying boxed.
